Let’s Go to the Movies!

I have heard of people from this area going to East Towne Mall in Knoxville, or even all the way to Turkey Creek to go to the movies! I have to admit this seems a little odd to me, having moved here from an even smaller town where the nearest movie theaters were only about 20 to 30 minutes away. Interestingly enough, one of those was Turkey Creek! And I admit it is a nice theater! Apparently the attraction of going all the way to Turkey Creek for our local residents here in Sevierville is the 3-d Imax screen!

But soon this should no longer be an issue! Phoenix Big Cinemas, out of Knoxville is bringing us a new theater in Walden’s Landing in Pigeon Forge! The theater is due to open late this summer! Five screens, a total of 632 seats, and 3D capability will surely make this new movie theater a new favorite for locals!

The new theater is not yet named, and is actually having a contest, in March and April, in which the public can enter suggestions for the new name! Entries can be made at any Walden’s Landing Store! The winner, in addition to naming the new theater, will also receive a year of free movies!

I can’t wait! Let’s go to the movies!
